Some of you will have got your hands on a Dragon’s Egg made by Alf Turner Butchers using Chilli Pepper Pete’s Dragon’s Blood Original Mega Hot Sauce. Now, to celebrate the millionth Dragon’s Egg which is out there somewhere in the UK, Paul Turner, who won Dragon Peter Jones’s investment, is coming to Brighton’s Fiery Foods UK Chilli Fest to talk about what it’s really like in the Dragon’s Den, and to give away prizes aplenty on Saturday 19th September.
Chilli Pepper Pete has been collaborating with Alf Turner Butchers for 3 years and, to celebrate the millionth Dragon Egg, is running a competition. Just answer this simple question and the first three correct answers pulled out of the virtual hat will get a fabulous prize (including the Dragon’s Egg of course!). Entries to be sent to: firstname.lastname@example.org by 21st September.

Thanks to Matt Simpson at Simpsons Seeds, we have a packet of each of the super hot Katie and Lucy Habanero seeds to give away to one lucky winner.
Katie & Lucy are both types of Habanero, they became well-known when Matt had them tested and Katie clocked up an impressive 1,590,000 SHU, making her the hottest chilli ever grown in the UK (as far as we know).
Well now you have a chance to win a packet of Katie Habanero seeds as well as her sister Lucy Habanero, you don’t have to answer any questions. Just enter your name and email address below to be included in the draw. We unfortunately will only ship these seeds to a UK address.
Congratulations to our winner.
Our friends at Sea Spring Seeds are running a competition that could end up with the winner holding a new Guinness World Record.
To enter this competition all you have to do is grow a chilli variety that produces very long pods. There are several varieties that are extremely long, and it is entirely up to you to decide which one to grow. However, Sea Spring Seeds recommends the best candidates as either Joe’s Long Cayenne and Spaghetti.
To enter is simple, when you think you have an extra long pod lay a measuring tape beside it and take a photograph. If the chilli is bent the tape must bend alongside. At the end of the year send in the photo of the longest pod.
One thing to remember is generally chilli plants produce bigger pods at the beginning of the season, so get photographing right from the start.
