You can purchase tickets for the Upton Cheyney Chilli Festival 2015

If you know Alex Duck, one of the organisers, you will know that the Cider will be flowing in both the farmyard and festival arena. There is also the UK Chilli Cook-Off Competition where you could win a trip to Las Vegas and if you are feeling brave you can take part in the Chilli Eating Competition organised by the Clifton Chilli Club

This year the world famous Wurzels (Sunday) and Sicknote Steve (Saturday) will appear on the stage and there is even a new alternative music and Comedy tent.

What makes this festival so special is that you can camp on the site (Booking essential) and on the Saturday night there is the “Party In The Barn” which if you want to go also needs to be booked ASAP as ticket disappear as fast as pints of cider near Alex.

I’ve been to Upton Cheyney for the last three years running, but I’m giving it a miss this year due to the cost of the tickets. Last year was £5 entry, this year it’s gone up by £3 to £8. How does £8 compare to other festivals in the south UK ? I was disappointed in the queues for drinks last year, is the price to dissuade people, or are there increases to running costs I’m not aware of?

Hi Matt

I was always warned that to make a small fortune in events you need to start wit a large one… I don’t think Upton is expensive at £8, it is a very pleasant event, with lots going on for the kids. Costs of insurance etc is very expensive, all it has to do is rain and you can easily be making a loss. I have know of events that have failed and taken down the company that hosted them, I am just glad I don’t have to do this kind of thing anymore.
