Right, here I am, back again after some serious hiatus!! Well, what can I say? Chilli festival season is just around the corner and I’ve been getting myself ready and in the mood for it all, and what better what than to kick start my arse into doing more video reviews?
Exactly, I thought you might all like that, so here is the first of a new batch!!
The sauce I have in this video is not a sauce at all, its more of a pickle, Emperor Naga from Mr Vikkis is the latest in his range of naga pickles, it takes its place on the throne beside both the King and Queen Naga pickles, this one is noticeably different though!!
Red Peppers, Onions, Vegetable Oil, Naturally Fermented Soy Sauce, Vinegar, Bhut Jolokia 7%, spices.
As you can see, it’s only a small list of ingredients, but whatever Adam does when he’s blending them together, makes this pickle completely stand out from the other two…the taste and texture is somewhat inviting, and the heat, while not at the level of Queen Naga, is certainly nothing to be sniffed at! Have a look for yourself:
Sooooo couple of points to clear up, I said “5 quid” but the pickle is only a mere £3.50!! So it’s an absolute bargain for such a unique and tasty pickle that is easily the best he’s ever made!
Also I said that Emperor Naga is the hottest one, apparently I’m wrong, the hottest is Queen Naga as this has a higher chilli content than the other two!
So if you fancy a nice Naga pickle to stir into cooking, or fancy dipping your crisps or poppadoms into something a bit different for a change, then you can’t go far wrong with a jar of this for a few bob! Head on over to Mr Vikkis right now, or better still come and meet the man in person this weekend at The Bedfordshire Chilli & Gourmet Chilli Festival at The Mansion House, jointly organised by Edible Ornamentals.
Anyway, that’s it from me for the moment Padawanz, I hope you all haven’t missed me too much ( I can be a bellend, lol) and I will see you all soon with another scorching review..so until then, may the sauce be with you…always!!
