Happy New Year Chilli Padawans!! I hope you got everything you wanted at xmas and that your new year was a drunken night of debauchery! I know mine was!

I thought I’d kick off the new year with a little company from london that is growing every day as more and more people sample their products and spread the word. A guy by the name of Joe Walters, started the Original Jerky Company London in 2012 with a view to providing good quality PROPER jerky to the UK masses, none of that moist shite you find in supermarkets! (that’s probably made of horse!..you know who i’m looking at!) So without further ado lets get into this stuff shall we?

Ingredients: Ghost:

BEEF, BEER, BHUT JOLOKIA, CIDER VINEGAR, LEMON, SALT

Ingredients: Dragons Blood:

BEEF, DRAGONS BLOOD, BEER, PINEAPPLE, LEMON, VINEGAR, SALT

As you can see from the ingredients, ! have two types of jerky here today for the vid review, the “Ghost” jerky, which of course contains the all famous ghost pepper, or bhut jolokia! The Dragons blood one is so named because it contains the now legendary Dragon’s Blood sauce from Chillipepperpete and as such, packs a bit of a punch!!

Watch the vid review below, and then come back to see the final scores!!

Okay so there you have it, not massively hot but enough to give a damn good burn and very VERY tasty to boot, possibly the best and by far the hottest jerky I have tried yet! If I was a persuasive man, I would say GO AND BUY SOME OF THIS BLOODY JERKY NOW FROM Original Jerky, ITS AMAZING!! But I’m not that persuasive, so I’ll leave that decision up to you! Right, thats all for now padawans, I know its been way too long so I’ll try to get another one done soon, until then may the sauce be with you…always!!

I bought 4 packs of the dragons blood jerky and have polished off one so far.

Initially it’s pretty tame but the heat builds the more you eat, was enough to give me the sweats and a runny nose but that’s about it.

Flavour was really good but overall i’m disappointed with the heat, if they did a version using extract instead of the dragons blood i’d probably prefer that.

They claim 800,000 scovilles for the dragons blood jerky but i reckon it’s no-where near that.

Remember salt and shake crisps and the disco’s that had the extra sachet of flavouring in? I had this in mind when I first tried beef jerky.

I opened the pack, went straight for the little packet in the bottom (being a bloke, didn’t read it) opened it and sprinkled it on the jerky. A few mins and half a bag later it wasn’t tasting too great, seemed a bit gritty.
I rummaged around for the empty sachet to read something like “silica anti moisture crystals, DO NOT EAT” I promptly threw up and continued to for the following 10 mins.

Soo I’m still trying to ignore that memory and start liking jerky again. One day maybe!

I’ve had this jerky before, and its the reason I now try and make my own.
The Dragons Blood is my personal favourite, it packs instant flavour and heat. Lovely.
The naga one was nice, and my 2nd favourite.

Just after you swallow the last bit on both flavours, you get a lovely back of the mouth/throat kick.

Highly recommend people try this jerky.
He does a special, where you can buy I think 4 packs of the hot ones… I’d say try this and get a nice mix of heats and flavours.
