Jme Holy Habanero Hot Chilli Sauce

Jme Holy Habanero Hot Chilli Sauce

How this looks like a sweet chilli sauce, but instead of using the usual birds eye chillies, they have selected to use the Habanero. I like sweet chilli sauces, but often they are just to sweet and lack the punch needed, this is due mostly to the excessive amounts of sugar and the lack of the expensive ingredient the chilli.

In this case things are not looking to bad, sugar and water and the top two ingredients as you would expect for this style of sauce, but  red chillies come third at 18%, let hope these are mostly tabs.

On cracking open the lid, it smell like a sweet chilli sauce… I guess I expected that. Now the taste nd warmth nearly knocked me over, I really was not expecting this to be hot. I know it says hot on the bottle, but how often does the hype not live up to reality.

Ingredients: Sugar, Water, Habanero Red Chillies (18%), Spirit Vinegar, Modified Maize Starch, Onions, Sea Salt, Garlic Puree, Preservative: Sodium Acid.

This is a cracking good hot sweet chilli sauce, it is sweet but not to the detriment of the flavour , it’s ideal as a dipping sauce, or pour in on nachos its got a really good flavour and no nasty aftertastes, this is one of the best sweet chill sauces I have tried. It would be my number 1, if it was not for my current favourite Trees Can’t Dance Sweet Chilli Sauce, but it is a very very close thing, this one wins on heat, TCD wins just by a nose on flavour.

This bottle cost £3.50 from my local farm shop, we don’t ofter buy our review products, but I could not resist this one and it was unlikely that we would get sent a bottle, so I am glad I did not just right this off as just another sweet chilli sauce.

The bottle includes url www.jmecollection.com, but I cannot find this sauce for sale on the site.
