Now I am sure your will all have come across small jars of jam and marmalade in the past, but the available range of these has been shrinking and now it seem unless you just want the basics you are going to be disappointed, then along comes The Mini Jar Company (also know as The Holly and the Ivy), not there range makes making a selection very hard, the produce 10 mini chilli products, as well as Jams, Chutneys, Curds, Jellies, Marmalades, Mustards, Pickles to name just a few.

Now today we are going to pick just one of these to review, but which one to select, they all look so tempting. Finally I got it down to two, the Mango and  Chilli Jam and the Scotch Bonnet and Garlic  Chutney, so this review will be of them both.

Mango and Chilli Jam

Mango And Chilli Jam

Mango And Chilli Jam

This is packed with small pieces of Mango, and unlike a mango chutney there pieces still have the texture of fresh Mango, there is just a mild hint of the green chillies and lemon juice, the chilli in this recipe is here to help enhance the mango flavour.

Ingredients: Mango, Green Chillies, Lemon Juice, Sugar.

Put this on some hot butter toast for a very tasty alternative to your normal preserve, a little jar costs £1.25 for 45ml

Scotch Bonnets have a unique flavour and this chutney is combines this well with garlic to make a very taste mini pot of pleasure, there are lots of pieces of Scotch Bonnet flesh in this chutney.

Ingredients: Scotch Bonnet Chilli, Garlic, Onions, Oil, Ginger, Sugar, Vinegar, Spices.

This is a great condiment with a lamb or goat curry, or take a selection of them to you office to pep up that sandwich this one would do the job perfectly and again at £1.25 for a 45ml jar it is easy to order a few as gifts.

Almost my only negative about these is the labels, but with such a large range, I think they can be forgiven for them not fitting perfectly, you can order these on-line at www.minijarcompany.co.uk and also find which events they are visiting, they are well worth looking out and picking up a selection.
