Masters of Malt 100, 000 SHU Naga Vodka

Masters of Malt 100, 000 SHU Naga Vodka

A long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away…actually it was a week or so ago, in my bedroom of all places! I received a big box from “Firebox” and “Master of Malt” that was quite heavy..what was in the box? Well it was a nice sized bottle of a chilli vodka that has recently been all over the net here in england, and as of a couple of days ago, it seems to have hit the states as well!

Firebox contacted us here at the chilefoundry and asked if we would like to review the drink, Hot Juan naturally said “of course!” and thus a bottle duly arrived on my doorstep a week or so later..and that’s how this review was born…

Ingredients: 40% vodka, Naga chilli’s

Review bottle kindly supplied by www.Firebox.com and www.Masterofmalt.com

So, here I have it finally in my hands, this is a vodka that has been mentioned on TV and in the national press here in the UK, and more recently its made its way overseas onto the Gizmodo website too, anything chilli related that’s garnered that much attention surely deserves a video review right? YES! I thought so too, hence why I leapt at the chance to do so, and I’m glad I did!

The bottle itself is an unusual one to me, maybe I don’t drink enough but I’d never seen a spirit or any other drink come in this type of bottle before now, a nice round, glass 70cl bottle, with the title label on the front, warning label and blurb on the back.

The liquid inside the bottle is a honey colour, and on popping the top the definite scent of Naga is unmistakable, a hint of vodka is also present (duh, its vodka) although neither smell overpowers the other and takes pride of place, if it tastes as good as it smelled then we’d be in for a treat!

I decided i couldn’t review this one alone as i don’t usually drink, and i’m not a fan of vodka at all, but this one was different, so i called upon Danny P to help me out!! (I am test driving new intro music in this vid..let me know what you think?)

So there you have it, a vodka that “claims” to be hot..and it ACTUALLY IS!! But more to the point, it actually tasted of chilli, as Danny and myself both pointed out, this has a nice Naga taste to it, which offsets the bitterness of the vodka quite nicely, making this a nice masochistic shot drink, or a cracking mixer for spicy voddy and cola, voddy and lemonade, or the PERFECT bloody mary (no need for spice!). For those of you who party alot, this stuff would probably make excellent vodka jellies with a kick!

My only gripe with this vodka is the label, its a little badly put together and it looks like its been home printed and stuck on with pritt stick, which is a real let down considering the quality of the product inside! Overall its a nice tasting vodka with a satisfying kick that might make even the most ardent chileheads suffer a little bit as they enjoy the alcohol itself!

If you’d like to buy a bottle of this chilli infused falling down liquid, then head over to www.firebox.com where you’ll find it for the sum of £39.99 for a 70cl bottle!

Right, time for this pithlord to hit the sack, so until next tme my chile padawanz, may the sauce be with you…always!!
