It is an odd name, but the HP22B is a pepper grown by Ed Currie from Rock Hill, South Carolina in the USA, the Chilli has been tested at over 1,500,000 Scoville Heat Units by Cliff Calloway a professor at Winthrop University.

According to the reports we have received the results are going to be or has been sent to the Guniness Book of Records as an attempt at the record.

Ed is in the process of setting up a business Pucker Butt Pepper Company he also has a facebook page

We will let you know more when we find anything else.

Our thanks to the various sources of information that all seemed to originate from NPR
