Barrington Court is one of our nearest National Trust property, and a couple of years ago we went to the first ChutFest 2011 event, and had a great day out tasting all sorts of Chutney, so we decided to make another trip out to ChutFest 2011.

This year the event has been sponsored by Tracklements, but is otherwise the same format as the original, they have about 20 trade stalls selling all sorts of local products from some excellent Apple juices, Cheese, Pies, Cakes, Wine, Sausages, as well as stalls with Pickles and Chutneys from the the home producers who have entered their products in the Chutney Competition.

A couple of outstanding products for the chilli fans, we got to taste the excellent Lucknow Lime Chutney & Bengal Apple Chutney from Maya Pieris of Four Seasons Preserves and a very tasty Chilli Chocolate Fudge from Feniton Fudge.

Judging the competition was preserves expert Vivien Lloyd, who was also selling her new book First Preserves, we have a copy of the book for review, it looks beautifully produced and is packed with years of experience and recipes.
