Fiery Foods UK Chilli Festival – 17/08/2011 to 18/09 /2011
The highly successful FFUK Chilli Festival is being held in Victoria Gardens in Brighton on the 17/18th September 2011.
The event is famous for it amazing Chilli Eating Competition and the National Chilli Awards, this year they are including a Chilli plant growing area with growing demos byCraig McKnight, WeGrowOurOwn Blog writer Wahaca’s chilli-growing guru and Growell Hydroponicsfor both regular (soil) and hydroponic (soiless) systems so bring your chilli queries to the FFUK Chilli Gardeners’ Question Time.
A first for this year, they are asking all amateur chilli growers to enter the chilli fruit competition which will be judged by some illustrious professional growers.
The categories are:
- Longest chilli pepper
- Most scary-looking chilli
- Most unusual variety
- Strangest-looking
- Tastiest
They are also running a “Best Plant” contest – the judges will look for shape and size, leaf colour, most prolific fruiting, and general health of the plant. There is still time to sow those seeds to bring your plants to perfection in time for the September festival.

Chilli and Chocolate Festival at Bristol Zoo Gardens – 17/08/2011 to 18/09/2011
For the first time Bristol Zoo Gardens are holding a Chilli and Chocolate Festival on the 17th & 18th September 2011.
There will be Chilli display of over 170 chilli varieties, stalls, cooking demonstrations, South American themed entertainments and food plus lots more!
All that and you get free admission to the zoo as well.

Burgess Hill Chilli Festival – 17/09/2011
The Festival will take place for the first time at the Burgess Hill Adult and Community Learning Centre, Marle Place, Leylands Road on 17th September from 11am-4pm.
Cookery demonstrations using chillies will take place at 12.00pm, 1.30pm and 3.00pm. There will also be opportunities for dancing, music and a wander around the garden.
