The Dartmoor Chilli farm

I hope you all feel like we do that the Dartmoor National Park Authority Planning Department is treating the Dartmoor Chilli Farm very badly, we have only seen great support for their enterprise from both locals and across the UK.  So we have send this letter in their support:-

Planning refs: APP/J9497/A/11/2154216/NWF & APP/J9497/C/11/2149857 & APP/J9497/C/11/214986

I am writing to you in support of a business that, in my professional opinion, is an outstanding example of what can be done by dedicated people. They are not mass producing products or trying to turn the park into a factory farm.

They produce a range of products using local produce, much of which is grown on the farm. The quality of their products is second to none. Their sauces, chutneys and jams have been rated many times by our team and found to be truly exceptional.

We feel the quality of the produce is down to the efforts they make to ensure the best possible ingredients are used. They grow over 100 varieties of chillies producing over 8,000 healthy chilli plants that have been grown using only natural and holistic methods, without the use of  herbicides or pesticides.

Quality food, locally produced, is what I am sure you would like to see sold in the local area. This takes dedicated people like Kay and Phil who are willing not to compromise their standards, they will work every hour needed and have an intimate connection to their land and produce.

Please do not waste this opportunity, but make it an shining example of how a small successful business can grow in an area of low employment.

Regards
David Floyd
