in General Information

This may sound obvious, but chillies do not grow natively in the UK! That’s what make’s UK chilli growers just that little bit more special!

An exceptional amount of work and time goes into growing chillies in the UK, and this video hopefully shows our delight at having finished planting out into the four tunnels that are the basis of our chilli farm in Bristol.

Filmed mid May and prior to any significant pod development, the footage starts in our show tunnel, which was stocked and planted by the mighty Matt Simpson of Simpson Seeds. This show tunnel is home to a variety of interesting, rare and beautiful chillies, all planted in a way which once mature will add depth and colour to what will seem like a chilli jungle.

The film moves on to our Barts Spices tunnel, where we are growing chillies on behalf of the Bristol based company, who will be using the resulting chillies in a range of limited edition UK grown spices. The video then moves on to our two main commercial tunnels where we are growing a range of chillies, including 7 Pot, Orange Habanero, Dorset Naga, Habanero Fruitburst, Jalapeno and Serrano.

I have also made reference to our smokehouse (that will be used to smoke the 1000’s of Jalapeno’s that we will harvest to make Chipotles) as well as our Chilli Walk that leads visitors up to the tunnels via 8 informative chilli stations

I do hope you enjoy it, and all being well we will make another video once harvest time is upon us!

If you want to see the development for yourself, please do visit. The chilli farm is open every day of the week, with our farm shop and cafe being open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
