Dartmoor Chilli Farm's Real Ale Chilli Chutney

Dartmoor Chilli Farm's Real Ale Chilli Chutney

Made with real ale from a real local brewery, the Dartmoor Chilli Farm has used Dartmoor Ale from the Gidleys Brewery in this chutney.

Gidleys Brewery

Gidleys Brewery

Gidleys Brewery is local to the Farm, if fact everything that does not come from the farm like the cider vinegar and the beer come from within 7 miles, that is except the sugar, which while not local is fairtrade.

When you open the jar, the aroma is rich with the smells of the ale and the apples. The chutney is light brown in colour and is thickly packed with ingredients, you can even pick out small flecks of red chilli floating in the mix..

The taste is not unexpectedly fully packed with flavors, initially I get the beer and hops, then the onion and sweetness from the apples and sultanans , all rounded off with the quite mild warmth of chillies, the sultanas are beautifully plump and sweet, and there are good chutney sized pieces of onion.

Ingredients: Apples, Onions, Sugar, Sultanas (Vegetable Oil), Dartmoor Ale 12%, Malt Vinegar, Chillies, Paprika, Ground Coriander.

Jar kindly provided by Dartmoor Chilli Farm

This must make one of the ultimate ingredients for my best ever Ploughmans Lunch, all I need now is some freshly baked crusty bread and some hunks of Stilton and Cheddar am I supposed to be dribbling doing this review..

Amazingly this 210g  jar of chutney is just £2.95, it is not hard to see why it is one of their favorite products, you can order this and any of their other great products at www.dartmoorchillifarm.co.uk.
