Stokin’ Sausages had been recommended to us a few month ago, so when I had a chance I ordered a few of thereĀ sausages to try.

Stonkin' Hot Sausages

We ordered the Stonkin’ Hot Sausage as an excuse to write a review, but we also added to our order some Madras, Lamb Rosemary and Garlic, and the kind people at Stokin’ included some Prime Pork Sausages, In the oven they went, I love sausages that are not full of fat and filler and from these there was very little fat in the pan.

We started with the Prime Pork Sausages, which are about as good as it gets when it comes to a quality pork filling, the lamb rosemary and garlic had let out a little more fat into the pan than the other, but you should expect this from lamb, if they remove all the fat they can taste a little dry, but not these again an excellent flavour and texture.

Ingredients: 80% Meat, Rusk (Wheatflour, Water, Salt), Potato Starch, Sugar, Perservative, Spices.

The Stonkin’ Hot Sausage while being excellent quality lacked the chilli flavour I was hoping for, they need a bit more chilli in them, many many years ago we used to make a BBQ Rub called Hot Juan’s Rub Down, out local butcher had made it in to sausages and they sold out in hours each time, this was mainly because they looked and smelled great (I am happy to provide Stokin’ Sausages with the recipe). The Madras version of the sausages was a little more flavour, but also seemed to be to be lacking the bite it needed..

Quality wise, the basic sausages are some of the best we have had and I struggled to keep some for my sandwiches.

At 3.99 per lb they are not bad value for such a well made sausage, you can order on-line atĀ
