The Smokey Joe Sauce Co - Bahama Mama

Smokey Joe is a master of Devon made, Caribbean inspired sauces and we are huge fans.

If you’ve never heard of them before, we advise you check out their website at www.smokeyjoesauces.co.uk Their ethos is similar to ours. It is more about “taste” rather than just heat.

Bahama Mama is a sweet and sticky marinade with fresh pineapples and Scotch Bonnet chillies for a true taste of the Bahamas.

Ingredients: Tomatoes, Tomato Paste Concentrate, Pineapple Juice from Concentrate, Sprit Vinegar, Pineapple (5%), Honey, Scotch Bonnet Chillies (2%), Water, Thyme, Allspice, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Salt, Pepper, Paprika, Cornflour.

Whilst not very hot, it has a glorious fruity taste and is perfect for ribs, pork or chicken. We used it as a glaze on some veggie-kebabs and it was a big hit with both friends and family.

It pours like a ketchup and the initial taste is from the tomatoes and pineapples. There is also a hint of honey and garlic. It has a mild chilli-kick which is no bad thing as any more heat, could overrule the other flavours.

It is gluten free, has no artificial flavours and only natural ingredients, meaning the taste is fantastic. It leaves you wanting more and more.

At only £3.50 per bottle it is well below the average for a hand-made sauce.

Nice one Joe.
