Fiery Foods 2011

Fiery Foods 2011

At this years Fiery Foods Event in Brighton (17/18th September 2011) they have a chilli plant growing area with growing demos by Craig McKnight, WeGrowOurOwn Blog writer Wahaca’s chilli-growing guru and Growell Hydroponics for both regular (soil) and hydroponic (soiless) systems so bring your chilli queries to the FFUK Chilli Gardeners’ Question Time.

A first for this year, they are asking all amateur chilli growers to enter our chilli fruit competition which will be judged by some illustrious professional growers.

The categories are:

  • Longest chilli pepper
  • Most scary-looking chilli
  • Most unusual variety
  • Strangest-looking
  • Tastiest

They are also running a “Best Plant” contest – the judges will look for shape and size, leaf colour, most prolific fruiting, and general health of the plant.  There is still time to sow those seeds to bring your plants to perfection in time for the September festival.
