ChilliPepperPete’s Chipotle Smokin’ Devil Chilli Sauce

I love Chipotle sauces and Pete has produced some excellent products over the years I have know him, better known for this extreme hot sauces, he is also a master of flavour over heat.

This sauce has is a dark down colour and it smells rich and fragrant with the sweet Pineapple and Tamarind swirling around my nostrils, it’s very appetising, so in with the spoon.

It is not as sweet as I expected having read the ingredients list, it has less of the smoke from the Chipotles at first taste, but this comes through the more you eat.

Ingredients: Capsicum, Onions, Grape Juice, Chillies, Apples, Pineapple, Sugar, Chipotle, Tamarind, Garlic, Herbs, Spices.

Bottle kindly provided by

The sauce is smooth, but not completely without texture, it is nice and thick and does not separate (always annoys me when I can see how much water was in a sauce), it is ideal as a dipping sauce, the flavour just keep coming, while I am not sure I can taste the apples, the Onions, Chipotle ,Tamarind and Pineapple are all doing these magic.

I have spread this over my lunch time cheese on toast (We have just got a grill, first time in six years I can have cheese on toast, and this sauce as spread a big smile on my face.

Another excellent example of Pete of top form in the kitchen, it only £3.50 for an 140 ml bottle, if I have any negatives, it must be the label, while it is professionally printed, it is dark and the artwork does not just up and grab me, I love the new headhunter look on the web site, this seems to be a divergence from the style.

You can buy this and Pete’s other excellent sauces at
