Upton Cheyney Chilli Company - Sunshine Sauce

Gooooood eveing my chilli padawanz!! I say evening because its a cool, calm sunday evening, Mrs Naga is making latex clothing while I sit here in a dressing gown typing this up, I have a cracking sauce today and I have to say, I’m not a massive fan of sweet sauces as I’m sure you all know, but if the UK scene keeps churning out beauties like this then I may well be turned round..not that I need any any help as i’m pretty round as it is 😀

The sauce today comes from the Duckboy himself, Alex Duck of the “Upton Cheyney Chilli Company” you can visit him at www.uptonchilli.co.uk or just do a search on this site for “Upton Cheyney” right, now lets get on with the tasting!!

Ingredients: Pineapple, Sugar, Honey, Onion, Cider Vinegar, Habanero Chilli, Lime, Garlic.

(Review bottle kindly supplied by www.uptonchilli.co.uk)

Okay, so here’s another sauce from the Duckboy, “Sunshine Sauce” as its known, conjures up all sorts of summery images in my head, but thats also probably due to the sun on the bottle holding a couple of chilli’s in his arms and smiling like this sauce is probably going to make my day better or something! The bottle is a standard 150ml bottle that has a high quality label wrapped round it in bright yellow colouring with the aformentioned sun coupled with the UCCC logo and a list of ingredients and even a usage recommendation!

The sauce itself is a dazzling orangey yellow colour with little shreds of red chilli floating in the mix and upon twisting the cap off I am greeted with a habanero and honey smell with a strong scent of pineapple too, the sauce is a *little* bit chunky, I say little because this pours nicely out of the bottle but is chunky enough to hold well on a spoon! Without further ado i decided to give my tastebuds a treat!

I placed the spoonful of sauce on my tongue and gave it a couple of swishes before swallowing..i can honestly say this stuff is awesome, it reminds me very strongly of a thick fruit punch with a fooking MAHOOSIVE kick of chilli at the very end, I had a little chat with Mr’s Naga about this sauce and she told me the same thing happens with UCCC’s other sauces, you get the flavour first and the punch of heat after, which is EXACTLY how a good sauce should be!

This sauce definitely gets the thumbs up from myself and Mr’s Naga, in factIi reckon if Alex thinned this down, chilled it and bottled it up he’d have an amazing summery chilli drink on his hands! (credit me for that one when the drink goes global Alex LOL)

SO there you have it, want to kick start the spring and get ready for the chilli festivals that lie ahead this year, then get your arse on over to www.uptonchilli.co.uk and grab a bottle of this lovely brew for a mere £4!! though you may want to buy two as you might go through the first one pretty quickly!!

As always my chilli padawans, if theres anything you would like to see reviewed here then email myself or Hot Juan and let us know and we’ll see what we can do 🙂 Until next time padwanz, may the sauce be with you, alwayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyys!!
