Cambridge Chilli Farm – The Sauce with No Name

Any regular visitors to this website will have no doubt heard of The Cambridge Chilli Farm. These prolific sauce makers kick out a suprising variety of hot sauce, relishes and jellies, one or two that I’m really quite fond of. I hadn’t even heard of ‘The Sauce with No Name’ until it landed on my door-step, really I hadn’t heard of it, I’m not trying to make a joke about the name!

Its not what I was expecting and its quite unlike any other sauce I have tried recently, perhaps thats why it remains nameless. There is a lot of Cumin in this sauce which gives it a very asian feel, it has Serrano and Jalepenos so its pretty warm but nothing too fiery. I’ve been using this as a kind of dipping sauce with Indian food, it works well, it’s sweet enough and has enough spice to dip your Samosas or Bhajis into without making your nose run too much, you can leave that to the Vindaloo! I haven’t yet found a use for it anywhere other than Asian cooking but I’m just fine with that, I’ll keep it for my curries.

Ingredients: Carrot, Onion, Serrano Peppers, Jalepeno Peppers, White Wine Vinegar, Brown Sugar, Garlic, Cumin, Black Pepper, Salt
