Levi Roots Reggae Reggae Peanuts and Cashews

Levi Roots Reggae Reggae Peanuts and Cashews

If you like Levi Roots Reggae Reggae sauce, you’ll love these nuts! You can buy 90g bags from Tesco for £1.29. Levi Roots started out on Dragons Den with a sauce he made in his own kitchen, and loved. He wanted to make it in larger quantities and two dragons helped him. These products started in Sainsbury and now the sauce is everywhere! They has even a Reggae Reggae Sub in subway!  Reggae Reggae Cooking Books, and Darth Naga has already reviewed the Reggae Reggae Sauce.

Ingredients – peanuts (54%), cashew nuts (32%), Reggae Reggae Seasoning, Reggae Reggae Sauce, maltodextrin, cornflour, rice flour, xanthan gum. [Reggae Reggae Seasoning – salt, sugar, ground spices (Chilli, black pepper, paprika, Ginger, nutmeg, all spice, cinnamon), malt vinegar powder, dextrose, onion powder, garlic powder, ground herbs (coriander, basil, thyme), citric acid, natural flavourings, Chilli extract.] [Reggae Reggae Sauce – water, sugar, barley, malt vinegar, tomato purée, onion, red scotch bonnet Chilli, modified maize starch, salt, colour: plain caramel, garlic, Ginger, all spice, spring onions, black pepper, mixed herbs, coriander, paprika, nutmeg, cinnamon, basil, thyme]

When you first open the packet you get hit by a sweet, acidic smell, almost like lemon. The pack contains both cashew nuts and peanuts, evenly coated with Reggae Reggae Seasoning and Reggae Reggae Sauce. The first thing I noticed about the nuts was the crunch of the peanuts and the slightly softer texture of the cashew. At first I tasted a slightly fruity warmth. this reminds me very much of a jerk style seasoning. There is a very little heat on your tongue. It isn’t a particularly hot product, but it has plenty of punch in it’s flavour!
