in General Information

As September begins to assert itself, with misty mornings and dewey lawns, our harvests begin to kick in, as have the Naga’s and other delights at the Upton Cheyney Chilli festival. Located in a charming village between Bristol and Bath, the festival is now in its second year.

This first event was relatively small. This year however Alex Duck, known as Duckboy on many chilli forums, plan to increase the size and make it a day and night to remember! There will of course be the compulsory Chilli Eating Contest, as well as chilli tasting and chilli related BBQ. Matt Simpson of Simpson’s Seeds will be giving a talk, and running a small tasting stand, there will some special fun and games, local butchers have been drafted in along with supplies of habaneros to make sure the BBQ is Hot Hot Hot.

This year we are also adding a bar and live local bands, and its understood the local cider makers have supplied some of their finest.

The live music will be headlined by a local band “Journey Up The Wood” who are rather famous around these parts! On top of all this we have Kangaroo Boxing, Bouncy Castles, Bouncy Slides, traditional English farmyard games, farm tours and pony and trap rides.

The date for this event is Septmber 11th 2010. Entry is free to the day event with £5 per person to the night time event.
