Dartmoor Chilli Farm – Hot Strawberry Jam

Dartmoor Chilli Farm – Hot Strawberry Jam

Make with Elsanta strawberries (One of the most popular commercially grown varieties in Europe), grown at their own nursery where it has never seen a pesticides, herbicides or fungicides.

On opening it has a wonderful smell of fresh strawberries, it is not a set jam, but is runny with nice lumps of strawberries in it.

Ingredients: Strawberries (60%), Sugar, Lemon Juice, Bhut Jolokia Chillies (3%)

Jar provided by Dartmoor Chilli Farm

The taste starts as a rich strawberry jam with is followed by a gentle bite from the Bhut Jolokia Chillies, I cannot wait to try this with a cream tea with some fresh clotted cream.

This is not a very hot jam, but the warmth and flavour from the Bhut Jolokia really compliments the strawberries, it is a bit like putting fresh ground pepper with strawberries, it is not a obvious combination and works so well.

At £2.99 for a 227g jar, this is a quality product that comes from the kind of farm we would like to think all our food comes from.
