Aunty Jee’s Handcooked Original Hot Salsa

Aunty Jee’s Handcooked Original Hot Salsa

Aunty Jee was born in Kenya her Farther migrated there from the Punjab in India in 1929, she immigrated in the UK in 1966. In 1987 she opened her first restaurant “Aunty Jee’s Curry Kitchen”. In 2002 she started Beautiful Mind Food Ltd to start making and selling a range of 100% vegetarian food and snacks.

In the mean time she has married and has four children, now in 2010 the business is still growing with distributors:- Suma (01422 313845) and Queenswood (01278 424084) and also on-line at

The Salsa comes in a 370g jar, on opening you can smell the tomato and cider vinegar, the salsa is well packed with tomatoes and onion it is not finely chopped, you can see the quality of the ingredients.

The taste in wonderful , there is a sweetness to the heat as the tomato washes over my tongue, I can taste the warmth from the chilli, it is hotter than I expected, but hot enough to distract from the other flavours, this is a real quality product, the mouth feel (a term from my beer tasting days) is very smooth and silky, I am spooning this from direct from the jar with a big smile on my face.

Ingredients: Chopped Tomatoes (60%), Tomato Puree (10%), Onions (10%), Chilli Peppers, Chilli Flakes, Apple Cider Vinegar, Sugar, Salt, Garlic Powder, Citric Acid E330.

You need to taste this to know how good it is, like many salsa’s it is hard to get the quality of the product over in the packaging, they need to get this product in the mouths of the consumers with tasting at shows and markets, it will sell like hot cakes!!

At only £2.99 per jar it is a bit of a bargain, we also have a jar of Aunty Jee’s Mild Bean Salsa to taste, so expect this to be reviewed in the next few months.

You will also see that Aunty Jee produces a range of curries and frozen products for more information visit
