We have finally managed to get our hands on the new Pringles Xtreme range of snacks, we have been waiting to review these since they were launch in July last year.

Pringles Xtreme Range

Pringles Xtreme Range

Xtreme Flamin Chilli Sauce –  These have a mild Cayenne flavour, not worth the fire extinguisher on the packet, jut not enough heat to carry the name Hot Sauce, better get a packet of the excellent Nando’s Hot Peri-Peri Crisps we reviewed earlier.

Xtreme Exploding Cheese & Chilli – These are a like a mild nacho cheese flavour, and not a very good version at that. Just in case you think I am a hardened taster of hot products and that  I’m being unfair in my tasting, I have got my Family to taste these along with me, and asked for their feed back

Xtreme Take Away Smokin Ribs – Starting to think I have got the wrong definition of extreme (Xtreme) there is just a hint of rib flavour, maybe we have had a bad batch, but everyone I asked to try these was disappointed with them, they just lacked any flavour.

Xtreme Fiery Wasabi –  I like Wasabi, but these had very little of the expected whoosh from the Wasabi. We have tasted a number of Wasabi products over the last few years and these must be the worst I have ever tasted. I can taste Wasabi, but is not not Xtreme not even slightly. I would miss these out and buy the Mr. Wasabi Peanuts they are much much better.

This must be one of my most disappointing reviews so far, there have not been many products that lack any redeeming features, especially from a company of the quality of Pringles, I find there normal range some of the best flavour on the market, we are happy to offer our help if they would like to improve them (In the past we have worked on developing our own crisp flavours)

We got them in Tesco’s but I have seen them in other super markets, but the review was a while ago now and Pringles may not be doing these flavours now.

I was so disappointed at the lack of wasabi in the wasabi pringles. You should try the Koh Kai wasabi nuts David, they are awsome.
