The Chilli Factory Numbit Nibble

The Chilli Factory Numbit Nibble

I love peanut butter; in fact for me peanut butter is a bit like bacon, in that almost all things taste better with bacon. I can remember the first time I had Chicken Satay, it was a revelation in taste, This may seem strange now, but it is not that long ago that anything but salted peanuts in a bag and even peanut butter was unheard of in the normal family house in the UK (Note : I was born in the 1960’s).

When we received this sauce I knew I had to write the review. The sauce comes in a 240ml bottle and the label Warns: “Extremely Addictive! Serve with Hot Chips, Baked Potatoes & Fried Rice, Satay Sticks, Chicken or Seafood”. My mouth is watering as I write this..

As I crack the lid from the bottle I can smell the sweet aroma of peanuts and soy sauce, I am not expecting much burn from this, as it has only 4% chilli, but at the moment I don’t care, I just want to enjoy that flavour and remember that first Chicken Satay.

Ingredients: Water, Peanut Butter (26%)(Peanuts, Emulsifier (417), Salt), Brown Sugar, Sweet Soy Sauce, Chilli (4%), Herbs and Spices, Garlic, Onion, Salt, Xanthan Gum (415), Colour (150d).

This sauce is thick but very smooth, at first taste I can feel on my tongue the texture of smooth peanut butter, then a sweet and salty from the soy and brown sugar, followed by the warmth from the chilli then finally a lingering lick from the garlic and herbs, then suddenly it ‘s time for a second spoon full, then a third. Addictive, no I can stop any time I want, but I am starting to feel like Pooh bear with a pot of honey, I can stop honest, I just need to do this for the review.

At last I manage to get the lid back on the bottle, I and promise myself I will have some more with the family tonight!

Did I like this sauce, Yes, it is great, will I buy some more, Yes, it I cannot beg some more. At £4.95 a bottle, it is not cheap, but that taste is well worth it.

This sauce is made by The Chilli Factory (www.thechillifactory.com) and is imported by Producers and Purveyors Ltd (www.producersandpurveyors.com) and can be purchased either online or via one of their stockets.
