South Devon Chilli Farm - Chilli Chutney

A very mild Chilli Chutney from the South Devon Chilli Farm, it comes in a 227g hexagonal jar.

On opening the jar there is a very pleasant fruity smell, which is not let down by the flavours from the apples and sultanas, I am very pleased to see the use of cider vinegar in this kind of high quality, it lets the flavours develop, without it needing to be matured.

Ideal with chicken, I think I may use the little I have left to stuff some chicken breasts and roast them (I will let you know how that goes).

Compared to some of the watery chutneys I often get to taste, this has the fine chopped consistency of a well made product.

I was expecting a little more bite from a chutney that is made with their own Devon-grown Habanero chillies, it is defiantly in the very mild class. I would be happy to have this again as the flavour was excellent very fruity, but I would like to see one with a bit more Habanero.

Ingredients: Sweet peppers, courgettes, onions, apples, sultanas, sugar, cider vinegar, fresh chillies (3%).

This product is stocked in Deli’s , Farm Shops around the South West, or can be purchased direct from the South Devon Chilli Farm’s web site.
