Barrington Court (Borrowed from BBC)

I have just got back from Chutfest 09, I know this is not a true chilli event, but we did find some interesting products and people.

We tasted lots of homemade chutneys, and each time I found a room full of stalls, there was a sign leading to another, we tasted Cheese, Pickles, jams, Breads, Ciders and apples juices, sausages and bacon.

Henry VIII was also seen wandering around tasting and being photographed with the visitors.

For chilli fans three stall got my interest:-

Trees Farm Jalapeno Sausages

These sausages are what I believe sausages should be like,  they are made from real pork, no mush, no excess filler, with a real Jalapeno flavour, slightly sweet, and a little bite, had to buy a couple of packets for supper.

They have a web site, but unfortunately it seems to be empty at the moment, but they can be contacted on 01823 669734.

Pitney Farm Shop

Rob Walrond had fresh Tomatillos on his stand; they looked very fresh and tasted great, idea for a salsa. Pitney Farm Shop can be contacted on 01458 253002 or enquiries@pitneyfarmshop.co.uk

Dave’s Cheese

Was offering tasting of Windyridge Cheese’s range including Afterburn, I don’t have contact details for Dave’s Cheese, but Windyridge cheese has a web site www.windyridgecheese.co.uk.

Chutfest 10 and other events

Barrington court was an excellent venue if a little expensive for a family to get in, but I guess we have to pay to preserve our heritage, you can find out about events at Barrington Court at their web site.
