Fire Foods

Some of the most interesting products we found at West Dean this year came from a company called Fire Foods, it was at times hard to get near the stand for the crowds tasting the range of sauces. A very unique but interesting sauces was Firemite, a mixture of Marmite and Hot Sauce, I guess it was one of those Marmite Love/Hate things, but the people I spoke to loved it as did I.

Another Interesting product was his Crunchy Chilli Peanut Butter, some products just seem right as soon as you hear about them.

Nick Woods (Woody to his friends) started Fire Foods after being give some chilli plants, soon he was hooked on the heat and disappointed in the locally available products so he started to make his own, now based in Grantham Lincolnshire, the business uses only the finest fresh ingredients ingredients.

His range now includes Hot Sauces, Chutneys and Relishes, Snacks, Jams and Marmalades and a range of Fire Foods T-Shirts.

The web site is excellent with good descriptions and images of the products, but best of all is the Fire foods forum with 100’s of people who are interested in using and growing chillies

We hope to do a full interview with Woody soon and get more information on what is in development.

If may find Fire foods products available in your local deli or find food retailer, for more information or to order some of the most innovate products we have seen visit the web site www.firefoods.co.uk and let them know the ChileFoundry sent you.
