Endorphin Rush

Endorphin Rush

One of the first extract hot sauces I ever tried. I came across it in a pub in Oxfordshire, and I had to slop some on my burger, at first taste the Molasses and Soy sauce gives it a bit of  a BBQ twang, then the pepper extract hits your tougue.

When I tasted it again for this review, it did seem a little tame compared to some of the sauces we have been testing of late.  At approx 33,390 SHU (Scoville Units) it’s still hot enough to burn.

This is not the best flavoured sauce as the extract gives it a slight chemical aftertaste. It is however one of the original super hot sauces, and has introduced a lot of people to HOT.

Tomato paste, water, Pepper extract, Vinegar, sugar, Molasses, Soy sauce.

The name endorphin rush comes from from the feelings of exhilaration sometime brought on by pain, danger  and stressful situations.

Available from a number of UK suppliers including:- Hot-Headz, Scorchio, Funky Pepper and Dr. Burnorium’s Hot Sauce Emporium

Hi Dave
Interestingly, the manufacturers of Endorphin Rush told me years ago that when the Super Hot sauces started getting out of hand in terms of heat, they actually toned down the heat level in their Endorphin Rush a little bit. This way people would remember theirs as being tastier! Try it smeared on a good quality BBQ’s sausage. The sweetness works really well.
Have a Hot Day!
Stuart / Hot-Headz!
